Diamond Deck is a steel bracket that clamps to a vertical scaffold tube and holds toeboards at the platform edge. It is one component of a toeboard system. Read this notice before you install or use it.
OSHA Does Not Approve Products
OSHA does not approve, certify or endorse scaffold components. Employers meet the standard on site, through how the scaffold is designed, built, inspected and used. Designed to the toeboard requirements of 29 CFR 1926.451(h)(4). Load testing in progress. Professional Engineer review in progress.
The Employer and Competent Person Are Responsible
The employer and its competent person remain responsible for scaffold design, erection, inspection and use, and for compliance with 29 CFR Part 1926 Subpart L, site rules and any owner specification. Diamond Deck does not change those duties.
Install as Instructed
- Install and use Diamond Deck only as described in our written instructions.
- Clamp the coupler to the vertical tube at deck level and tighten the clamp screw.
- Set the arms straight or at the corner angle, then lock the pivot.
- Seat each board fully in its pocket and tighten the set screw.
- Toeboards go on after the decking is complete and before work starts on the platform.
Inspect Before Each Shift
Check every bracket before each shift and after any event that could damage it. Confirm the clamp is tight on the tube, the pivot is locked, and each board is seated with its set screw tight.
Remove From Service
Take a bracket out of service and tag it if any of these apply:
- It is bent, cracked or deformed.
- The set screw or pivot pin is missing or will not tighten.
- The clamp will not close or hold on the tube.
What It Is Not For
- Do not use Diamond Deck as a guardrail, a fall protection anchorage or a tie-off point.
- Do not load it beyond its toeboard function. Do not hang tools, materials or equipment from it.
- Do not modify the bracket.
Confirm Fit With Your Scaffold
OSHA does not allow components from different manufacturers to be intermixed unless they fit together without force and the scaffold's structural integrity is maintained (29 CFR 1926.451(b)(10)). Your competent person decides whether Diamond Deck fits your system. Fit testing on major tube scaffold systems is in progress. Tell us your system and tube size and we will confirm.
Testing Status
Current testing and review status is shown in Specs and Safety. Status statements describe work in progress and are not a certification.
